Carmen has been practicing Yoga since 1984. She is a registered Yoga Alliance instructor (E-RYT) and has been teaching since 2001. Carmen is a certified Bikram Yoga instructor and has taught at the Bikram College of India, Los Angeles Headquarters, West Covina, San Clemente and Costa Mesa, California. Currently, she instructs at the Bikram Lahaina studio in Maui since 2003. Carmen has studied Integral Yoga with Shri Mahesh in Paris over the course of two years ('05-'07). She has participated in the Yoga Journal Conferences in Boston, San Francisco, and Boulder with renown instructors. Currently, Carmen is completing her second certification with Shri Dharma Mittra, "The Teacher's Teacher" in New York City, and is scheduled to complete her studies in June, '09. Carmen is familiar with Anusara and Iyengar styles. In her practice, Carmen integrates classical postures with breathing, relaxation, and meditation techniques. Her structural, slow-paced approach makes the postures easy to execute, with modifications whenever necessary, focusing on precision and alignment.
